• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place, properly documented, performing as intended, reviewed regularly and updated as needed
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data and transactions through the use of detailed reviews, reconciliation reviews and analytical procedures
• Report financial results and provide required support or analysis in accordance with SDI and NMBS division requirements
• Ensure compliance with SDI policies such as capital spending, safeguarding assets, transaction approvals and expense reimbursements
• Provide local, segment and corporate management with timely and accurate financial data, communicate with other department managers and actively participating in management meetings
• Interact with and provide supervision for all accounting department staff
• Identify key metrics and develop tools to measure and report on them
• Prepare annual and monthly financial forecasts

• Four-year Accounting degree with CPA or CMA in active status
• Supervisory experience
• 5+ years of relevant accounting work experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong written communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge in Excel
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Financial reporting and internal controls experience preferred
