This position works closely with the Controller and Accounting Supervisor to manage financial functions, assist in month end close, and perform benefit and payroll functions as needed.

It offers a unique opportunity to do monthly accounting and payroll activities while also using analytical skills, research, and problem solving to creatively improve system accounting and payroll procedures.

• Assist Accounting Supervisor with verification of the accuracy and completeness of daily accounting activities at the plant.
• Assist Controller and Accounting Supervisor with internal control compliance and identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
• Assist Controller and Accounting Supervisor with month end accounting duties.
• Assist with process improvements and special projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of accounting and employee information.
• Communication of various benefits and payroll topics to our employees.
• Assist employees with benefits and payroll questions

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in business preferably with accounting major.
• Benefits and Payroll experience a plus.
• Relevant core-competencies required: time management, highly organized, project management, multi-tasking, applying effective analytical and problem- solving skills, and collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Dedication to details and accuracy, with exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with spreadsheet and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred

• Manufacturing accounting experience a plus
• Experience developing reports to improve controls or automate processes.
• Experience with month end closings and reconciling general ledger accounts.
